Need a hand with iFiles? Check the answers below, or email hi@ifiles.app — please include your app version and iOS version. We usually reply within 48 hours.
Is iFiles free?
Yes — downloading iFiles, browsing files and Wi-Fi transfer are completely free. iFiles Pro unlocks the deeper tools (document scanner, Link to PDF, Vault, metadata cleaner, PDF merge, ZIP) with a 3-day free trial, then a yearly or monthly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase.
How do I transfer files between my iPhone and computer without iTunes or a cable?
Open Tools → Wi-Fi Transfer and tap Start. On a computer connected to the same Wi-Fi network, open the address shown on your iPhone in any browser. Drag files into the page to upload, click to download.
Wi-Fi Transfer won't connect — what should I check?
Make sure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network, and that Settings → iFiles → Local Network is enabled on your iPhone. Some public or office networks block device-to-device connections (AP isolation) — a personal hotspot or home network usually works.
Where are my files stored?
All files live locally on your device, inside iFiles' own storage. Nothing is uploaded to any server — the app works without an account and keeps no copy of your data anywhere else. Sensitive files can additionally be hidden in the Face ID Vault.
What file formats does iFiles support?
Images (JPG, PNG, HEIC and more), videos (MP4, MOV), audio, PDF, text and office documents, plus ZIP / RAR archives — you can browse and extract archives directly on your iPhone. Any other file type can still be stored, organized and shared.
Does iFiles need an internet connection?
No. iFiles works completely offline. Wi-Fi Transfer only uses your local network, so it works even on a Wi-Fi network with no internet access.
How do I get files from other apps into iFiles?
Use the system share sheet: in any app, tap Share and choose iFiles. You can also upload from a computer via Wi-Fi Transfer, or import from the Files app.
How do I restore my Pro purchase?
Go to Settings inside iFiles and tap Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple ID you used to buy. Past purchases are restored automatically.
How private is the Vault?
Vault files are hidden from the normal file list and protected behind Face ID / your device passcode. They stay on your device and are never uploaded anywhere.
